Hailed as the ‘Diva of the Sudanese desert’ (BBC World News) on Apr 22, Sudanese-Italian singer Amira Kheir performs a headline set on her Grow debut.

Sudanese singer Amira Kheir has been enchanting audiences around the world with her unique sound inspired by traditional music from her homeland Sudan and explorative of jazz, soul, rock, desert blues and experimental music.

Celebrative of the stories of women, marginalised voices, unheard perspectives, outsiders, Amira’s music finds its pulse in themes of liberation, love, freedom, connection, belonging, destiny, unity, environment, transformation and evolution.


She was nominated for 'Best Artist’ at the 2019 Songlines Music Awards, as well as being nominated as one of “6 Amazing Jazz Artists from the Middle East and North Africa not to be missed” by Mideast Tunes, and selected as one of “13 African Artists that will mark the next Decade” by Rede Angola. As a singer, songwriter and producer, she is repeatedly featured on world renowned magazines including Songlines, fRoots, the Evening Standard, as well as Radio France Internationale, Fip, Radio Popolare, Rai Radio 3, BBC World News, BBC World Service, BBC Radio 3, BBC Arabic and BBC Persia.

She will be joined by a Grow resident DJ who’ll be spinning the best in contemporary & traditional world music and an eclectic mix of dancefloor goodies till 2am!

Our Spice Trail Menu is predominantly plant based, with some ethically sourced meat options, as part of our conscious drive towards sustainability. Our passion is for the cooking of the Middle East and southern Mediterranean so expect punchy flavours, warm spices and as always the best ingredients we can find to comfort and nourish the soul.

With our drinks, we partner with breweries St Austell and Signature Brew for our lagers and IPAs and serve organic wine and prosecco which help international wildlife charity, Born Free. We design our spin on such drinks as Rum Punch, homemade Hackney Spiced Rum, Vegan White Russian and Espresso Martini.
