GROW’S SUSTAINABILITY POLICIES AND ACTION PLAN


GROW is committed to operate our business in a way which aims to balance environmental impact, social value & economy. Founded in 2014, we refer to ourselves as an experiment in ethical & sustainable business and sustainability is central to all our decisions.

SUSTAINABILITY ACTION PLAN

Internally, we have a Sustainability Action Plan in place which identifies and details key environmental objectives, targets and ambitions and informs our overall strategy & everyday actions. This reviewed annually.

SUSTAINABILITY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Relaunch of Grow's Future Fair, our monthly market promoting conscious consumerism; sustainability, cultural, wellbeing & equality

  • Launch of 'Growing Communities' organic veg pick up station for the local community

  • Series of skill sharing online talks/workshops with artists/musicians called 'Grow at Home'

  • Workshops for volunteers on planting, installing floating ecosystem & making furniture from old tyres

  • Creation of 'pop-up' outdoor meeting area in Grow's Yard with aromatic planters

  • Launch of HR Portal for clear communication & wellbeing information for employees

  • Series of comedy cabaret fundraisers to raise funds for local charity, Hackney Night Shelter

  • Installation of post mix guns to reduce waste

  • Instagram campaign to raise awareness sustainability ideas/initiatives

As part of Grow’s 10 year anniversary celebrations, we wanted to understand ‘what makes up’ the unique party that is ‘Equal Parts’ and what makes our collaboration special! We spoke to Jacob Fairless Nicholson who is a DJ, geographer, climber, and resident of Hackney Wick since 2013. He is part of the Equal Parts collective that has thrown quarterly parties at Grow since 2018.
