The Craig Carri trio is a guitar-led group which takes its influence from the likes of John Schofield and Bill Frisell. With improvisation and playfulness at the band’s core instruments take on different roles as the music develops, moving between deep swinging grooves, soaring melodies to playing with floating, spacious textures.
Expect to hear fresh takes on tunes from Charlie Parker, Thelonius Monk, Wayne Shorter, in addition to some choice jazz standards.
Originally from Co. Kildare, Ireland, Craig has been living in London for the past 12 years, building a reputation as a respected guitarist within London’s vibrant and diverse scene. Craig has performed in many of London’s prestigious jazz venues, and further afield around the UK, Europe and South America.
Having studied with some of the best musicians of our time, Craig has a broad range of influences from the jazz tradition, contemporary music and South American music, particularly from Brazil.
