"Wonderful, unique sound, lovely guitar, lovely songs, a really great, beautiful voice...” Jools Holland, BBC Radio 2, 2019
"Boy, so nice to hear ESE & The Vooduu People. So well-played and the guitar tonality and attack is so natural and beautiful, and so well sung, and performed just loose enough. Damn good rockin’ band... a nice hang to hang around when they’re playing. Really cool...” Iggy Pop, Iggy Confidential, BBC Radio 6 Music, 2019
THIS EVENT WILL BE LIVE STREAMED
Fiery songwriter, Ese Okorodudu and her band play on heated & covered terrace, on the last weekend before Christmas.
Inspired by a range of legends, from Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone to Led Zeppelin via The Isley Brothers, Bowie, Prince and Skunk Anansie, Ese (vocals, guitar) is backed by the incendiary Vooduu People: ex-Noisette Pharoah Russell (drums), Basile Petite (bass) and – since June 2018 – Destra Orsheena “Sheena” Ross on backing vocals. Keyboardist Jackson Baird has also joined the core quartet as a regular collaborator.
Signed by independent label Quadrafon Music Industries.
