HACKNEY ARTS ENSEMBLE // LIVE SPOKEN WORD & JAZZ

  • Grow 98c Wallis Road London, England, E9 5LN United Kingdom (map)

Hackney Arts Ensemble kick off their 2023 residency with their 10th show Anniversary and a beautiful showcase of original music, featuring their co-founders Trisha Waku, AdamPD and Harlan Ingram.

The three musicians grew up together and have been rubbing musical shoulders for over 10 years now, bringing a natural style and grace to each and every one of their shows.

Trisha’s freeness in spirit and sensitivity expresses a contagious honesty and the romance yet realism of her poetry never fails in stirring the soul. She’s accompanied by composer and producer AdamPD on keys who’s inspiration he takes from not only the greats of American Jazz and Funk, but also the UK’s own wave of genre bending Jazz musicians and DJs.

For over 15 years he’s been writing music inspired by these artists and continues to bring this electricity to the keyboard. Last but by no means least, Harlan Ingram, the drummer and beatmaker extraordinaire backs the two up behind the kit with smoothness and class while lining up the pocket of their hard-hitting grooves.

As a trio they form H.A.E and will be inviting friends and family to the stage to get involved in the Jam later in the evening. To close the celebratory night with a bang the Arts Ensemble invite special guests to select and mix their favourite tunes.
