LOKANDES // LIVE ANDEAN AFRO LATIN GROOVES + DJS TILL 2AM

  • Grow 98c Wallis Road London, England, E9 5LN United Kingdom (map)

We welcome the Andean Afro Latin fusion band, Lokandes to Grow on Feb 5! They’ll be joined by DJ Carlitos Nino, who’ll be taking us through till 2am.

This event is made possible by Korev – St Austell Brewery’s flagship lager. There will be giveaways on the day courtesy of them!

Born in Cornwall, Korev is pale gold like the morning sun, fresh and crisp like a sea breeze, and as invigorating as the waves crashing against our shores. Head to the Korev bar and experience the coast in a glass. Drink it all in.

Their name is the combination of two words: Crazy and Andes which means making unconventional and alternative music with the Andean instruments and bringing it up to date making a fusion of traditional roots and Afro- rhythms with other contemporary genres such as Reggae, Cumbia, Ska, Jazz, Son, Rumba Folk and funky Latin rhythms.

The band has united musicians and instruments from Panama, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Cuba & Canaries Island and setting their highly original music, alongside socially conscious lyrics and a super-tight rhythm section bringing awareness to Latin-American and worldwide cultures with their music

The band had the opportunity to perform at different festivals and venues such as:

Love Box, Secret Garden Party, Glastonbury, Big Chill Festival, Jazz Cafe, The O2, British Museum, BBC studios and more

Carlitos Nino, direct from Colombia, DJ and music promoter across London city, he showcases a fusion of Latin American music with a London twist influenced by world music connecting a community to a selected component of its past, but it does so to give meaning to the present. His selection of music includes a new wave of global beats mixed with Latin, Cumbia, Tropical, Afro-latin, Salsa, Electro, Disco, Folk and Urban rhythms are the the focus of this music aficionado. A Latino reference in the UK!
