As part of our ongoing Grow At Home programme of online talks with local artists, we welcome concrete designer, Junior Phipps for a talk and interactive Q&A afterwards.
Junior Phipps is a self confessed concrete nerd, a Neo-Brutalist who is passionate about crafting beautiful surfaces, furniture and sculptural objects out of polished concrete. Juniors company Conscious Forms creates “design conscious functional concrete forms” of an architectural nature. CF are best known for casting concrete in-situ, which enables CF to create large seamless concrete surfaces to any shape or form, concretes versatility and aesthetics makes it the perfect material for creating bespoke design statements in the home, commercial or public spaces. The studio workshop undertake commissions to produce small batches of bespoke and limited edition sculptural concrete furniture forms. CF have produced award winning ranges of lighting, loudspeaker’s, furniture and products that celebrates concrete and form.
