The Spice Jam comes to GROW adding a global flavour to your mid-week - expect a night of musical and cultural movement and exchange: 4 Epic performances, woven together through improvisation, solo performances and songs.

THE LINE UP
Jawari is a multi-disciplinary collective. Core members include band leader Tommy Khosla on sitar, Latin Grammy awardee and Aterciopelados (Europe) member Gregorio Merchán on percussion, Taylor Frost on guitar, Billie Sophoclides on saxophone and Nashville's first Youth Poet Laureate Lagnajita Mukhopadhyay. Drawing on the eclectic musical and interdisciplinary backgrounds of its members and collaborators with an emphasis on the Indian Classical tradition, JAWARI is cultivating a distinct identity within the global jazz scene. Following sell-out gigs in London, they are currently working towards their debut album, ROAD RASA - supported by Help Musicians and the British Arts Council - which will be released in 2024.
SOUND ANTHROPOLOGY
Ayana on Voice, Tommy Khosla on Sitar, Vishnu Vijayan on Tabla, Mohammad Resyad on Oud & Guitar, and Alex Ryder on Bass. Aiming to simply let the music do its talking whilst grooving with each other. Formed by Ayana Homma (Jazzy Sport London), Sound Anthropology is a meeting point of spiritual jazz infused with global and electronic influences. Ayana draws inspiration from both Japanese Shintō ideologies and global sounds. Drawing from her original works, the band has together expanded an immersive musical vision that encompasses Rhythm, Raga, Tala and Maqam. With Ayana on Voice, Tommy Khosla on Sitar, Vishnu Vijayan on Tabla, Mohammad Resyad on Oud and Guitar, and Alex Ryder on Bass - the musicians aim to let the music the talking whilst grooving with each other and the audience.
MTV TRIO
A trio of musicians from different parts of the world, from different musical traditions and backgrounds met in a Hindustani Classical music class. Inspired by the sound of Shakti, the @mtv._trio plays around different musical traditions while trying to respect the orthodoxy.

5pm on the door. We reserve 30% of our tables for walk ups so still feel free to come down and grab a spot. There is plenty of standing room as well. We advise that you arrive as early as possible.

Our Spice Trail Menu is predominantly plant based, with some ethically sourced meat options, as part of our conscious drive towards sustainability. Our passion is for the cooking of the Middle East and southern Mediterranean so expect punchy flavours, warm spices and as always the best ingredients we can find to comfort and nourish the soul.
With our drinks, we partner with breweries St Austell and Signature Brew for our lagers and IPAs and serve organic wine and prosecco which help international wildlife charity, Born Free. We design our spin on such drinks as Rum Punch, homemade Hackney Spiced Rum and Espresso Martini.
