We welcome the co-founder of Global Roots, Boiler Room and Rinse FM resident to Grow for a 4 hour set on Bank Holiday Sunday!
As well as being an unrivalled selector with a deeply rooted presence in the global music scene, Thristian is an artist with a wide-ranging creative résumé that spans NTS, Channel 4, and most recently, Worldwide FM with collaborator Gilles Peterson.
Throughout this journey, Thristian developed his brainchild, Global Roots: a platform and network which provides agency to alternative perspectives across music, arts, sports and culture. Global Roots currently encompasses a bi-weely radio residency on the legendary Rinse FM, music curations at the likes of Tate Modern in London, as well as pop-up exhibitions, film screenings and festival partnerships, with collaborators including the likes of We Out Here, Dimensions, Bahidora and Worldwide Festival.
Thristian’s sets explore diverse sounds in underground music, bouncing from the un-released exclusives that land in his inbox, to heavy-weight classics which have informed his taste to this day.
His sets are carefully assembled for each crowd, whether it’s traversing the deeper realms of house and techno, or weaving adventurously through hip-hop, jazz, funk, Latin and African sounds. No matter the situation, Thristian creates a musical journey full of forward-thinking energies and unexpected pleasures.
