WAH WAH LIVE W/ LÉA MONDO, VANESSA FREEMAN, DOM SERVINI & MORE
Soulful London-based independent record label Wah Wah 45s kick off their 25th birthday year with a live show from new signing Léa Mondo!
LEA MONDO
Born in the Congo, raised in Johannesburg and now living in London via Wigan, this unique vocalist fuses jazz, dub reggae, Afrobeat and soul influences to create a very special sound.
ON THE DECKS
On the decks, label boss Dom Servini and Wah Wah 45s resident Summer Aisha'Mae are joined by veteran DJ and political activist out of Manchester, Irfan Rainy. His sets roll deep, taking in Afro, Latin, jazz and Chicago house flavours along the way, and are always directed towards the dancefloor.
On mic duties for the evening will be none other than legendary voice of black British music, Vanessa Freeman. A lady who really needs no introduction, Vanessa's vocals have been a staple of the UK scene for over three decades, lending her talents to outfits like Kyoto Jazz Massive, Reel People, Roots Soul, Baker Brothers and Faze Action, as well as working with artists like Nathan Haines, Phil Asher and Alex Attias, and releasing her own solo material. Most recently, Vanessa has joined the much loved and respected Eve's Drop Collective and will no doubt be using her MC skills from their much hyped parties to keep the Wah Wah dance floor moving all night long.
