For this October session, Bruk Therapy invites Rosie From The Block alongside residents Oliver Night & Cengiz !

Rosie From The Block under her Roselien moniker, for many years Rosie has been making waves in the London jazz, soul, and R&B scene through various live shows and her monthly "La Vie En Rose" radio show on Totally Wired Radio.

With her latest project Rosie From The Block, she has caught the attention of renowned music figures such as Reggie Watts, IG Culture and Lefto. She has been remixed by the broken beat legend Kaidi Tatham, and has shared the stage with the likes Gregory Porter, Meshell Ndegeocello, The Jones Girls, Bilal and Gabriel Garzon Montano.

Roise has now got a monthly radio show on Belgium's Kiosk radio and regularly crosses the pond from Brussels to UK to bless her favourite island with her music and performances.  

Oliver Night is a London-based DJ and producer celebrated for his deep, dubby, and soulful productions, as well as his distinctive vocals featured on tracks by leading names in electronic and house music. With a profound passion for Broken Beat, Oliver has been shaping unique sounds and captivating audiences globally.

Beginning his musical journey as a child drummer, Oliver has performed at iconic events such as Worldwide FM, We Out Here Festival, and Boiler Room, and shared the stage with Roots Manuva at Glastonbury.

Oliver’s discography includes notable releases such as the 2022 EP "Welcome" on CoOp Presents and recent collaborations with London-based singer-songwriter Bel Cobain on her track "Awakening" and his EP "Blame Game," featuring both Bel Cobain and Mighty Mo of The Heartless Crew. His vocal talents are showcased in collaborations with the likes of Jimpster, Quiet Dawn, Ed Seven and Natasha Diggs

Oliver Night continues to push boundaries in the Broken Beat, house, and electronic music scenes, whether through production or vocal performance, cementing his reputation as a dynamic and innovative DJ and artist.

Cengiz is a London based DJ, record collector and producer, originally from Istanbul, who has been releasing music under CoOp Presents and Dance Regular labels, his latest release MOTF has seen support from radio heavy weights such as Gilles Peterson and Jamz Supernova. Cengiz is also a member of the Selectors Assemble crew and the curator of "Bruk Therapy" nights.

For this August session, Bruk Therapy invites Donsurf X Abiba alongside residents Cengiz & Entek !
 
Donsurf is one of the most exciting broken beat artists emerging from Leeds. Since releasing his standout EP 'Dance With Me' on Dance Regular in 2022, he has gained recognition for his remix work, including a recent remix for Bel Cobain on CoOp Presents. Having played at We Out Here, Warehouse Project and Fabric, Donsurf is known for his seamless blends of jazzy, bruk, and broken beat, promising unforgettable performance.

Abiba, an emerging performance artist and DJ from southern Netherlands, who challenges the lack of diversity in Western-dominated electronic music by celebrating its queer and PoC roots. Her music, rich in syncopated rhythms, infectious grooves, and impactful vocals, offers a unique journey on the dancefloor.

North London based French producer, musician and finger drummer Yeye! ENTEK. Entek is a member of the Selectors Assemble, releases music under the CoOp Presents label and he is a part of the Orii Jam Community house band.

Shedding Histories return to Grow with their eclectic brew of sounds for their summer party, this time featuring special guests Bushbby and Fredericka.

Shedding Histories is the dynamic rare groove party set up by selectors Bena & Chameleonas. It has become known for its focus on creating an open-ended dance featuring diverse sounds from across the spectrum including jazz, global psych, reggae and funk. Their previous guests have featured the likes of Donna Leake, Poly Ritmo, Palo Santo Discos, Tim Garcia and many more.

Bushbby

Foundation FM resident Bushbby is well known for her high energy and highly danceable sets infusing Afro-Latin and Caribbean grooves. Paying homage to her Colombian roots and love of Latin music, Bushbby will be treating us to a very special vinyl only set exploring records picked up from her recent travels. Expect a fusion of cumbia, salsa rhythms and the fiercest champeta sounds. 

Frederika

Also joining Shedding Histories will be seasoned digger Frederika who has built a reputation through her eclectic musical explorations on platforms such as NTS and Analogue Journal. Always driven by percussive and danceable rhythms, Fredericka will traverse sounds from across the globe to get the party moving.

Disco Monde joins us for their Grow debut femme fronted club night: Sounds of the Global South, celebrating the diaspora and the vibrant sounds of Latin, Afrikan, SWANA, and much more. 

Curated by Zoe Fayaud & BlackMagicWoman, Disco Monde was inspired by the queer and femme-fronted club nights that came before them, Disco Monde was created by ZOÉ & BlackMagicWoman to create a space for DJ’s of the diaspora or passionate about music from the global south. Disco Monde’s theme is dance music from all over the world, blending genres. This includes but is not limited to African electro/bass, Latin house, Afro-Cuban house, Funk, Disco, Soulful vocals, Flamenco, Arabic pop, Raï, Dabke, Reggaeton, Cumbia and Perreo.

BlackMagicWoman spins House music and Electronic Global Dance music. Her collection is rooted in disco, funk, soul, and Afro/Latin rhythms. Expect to hear reworks of dance floor hits, and to discover your new favourite tune. Originally from Dallas, Texas, BMW is a DJ, music producer, bassist and sound engineer. 

ZOÉ was born in Thailand, and raised in Cambodia, Mali and Tanzania. Drawing from her international background, she spins an eclectic mix of Reggaeton, Latin and Afro Cuban House, Arabic House and Pop, heavy percussion and many more infectious rhythms.

Get ready to meet the inspiring HabibTati, a multi-genre DJ who defies boundaries and takes SWANA music to the next level! With a passion for creating a safe and inclusive space for all, especially the SWANA LGBTQ+ community, HabibTati blends hardcore, pop, grime and techno beats with SWANA sounds and rhythms from their family background. Their music is a true reflection of their identity and spreads joy and positivity to all those who listen. If you're looking for inspiration and education, HabibTati is the DJ to check out

ROJAZ is an electronic artist, DJ from London and Barcelona whose unique sound fuses her Anglo-Spanish cultural mix into electronic music. Combining Spanglish lyrics with house, UKG, breakbeat and plethora of dance influences. ROJAZ’ distinctive sound has seen her become a fast fave with tastemakers including Sian Eleri (BBC Radio 1), Jyoty (Rinse FM) and John Kennedy (Radio X), as well as receiving support from Wiz Radio, Balamii, and BBC Intro South. Her recent track 'Cafe' gained support from Shosh at Kiss FM and Reprezent's DJ/artist Driia, and so far has seen her play several notable London venues including Peckham Audio, Colours Hoxton, and St Pancras Old Church.

Zuva plays a mix of global club genres, from gqom to baile funk, from amapiano to Jersey club. Expect a mix of genres and some cheeky remixes to get you moving on the dancefloor!

CSGRV cut his teeth as a resident at Village Underground playing regularly at his Superstion event with the likes of Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Rødhåd, Luke Slater and Blawan, known for his deep and psychedelic strain of techno. He now has delved in to digging and diving into the beautiful world of Afro and Brazilian-centric jazz, disco and house.

Norman held down a residency with us through the winter for our Roast n Rhythm’s Sunday event playing all kinds of Latin-soaked broken beats. He’s excited to return for an evening of dance floor fillers. Expect beats licked with soul, jazz and Afro-Latin influences with some heavy hitters later on.

Pete Bennett has been a mainstay at Grow playing every Thursday for our Jazz events, always bringing new finds from his record shop digging expeditions. With over 30 years of DJing, collecting records and throwing parties Pete brings his knowledge and depth of music showcasing jazz, rockabilly and blues.

We’re at a critical juncture. The only way we can envisage survival to get to our 11th year is with your help. We’re asking for your support to raise £40,000. This will enable us to activate a plan that will not only keep us open but also make us more self-sufficient and sustainable.

• Invest in Solar Power: We plan to install solar panels for our studios and venue, making us one of the first venues in the UK powered by solar. This will significantly cut our energy bills and inspire others to follow suit.

• Become a Community Interest Company (CIC): As a CIC, we’ll have more options to apply for funding for our cultural programme and be eligible for Cultural VAT Exemption.

• Extend Our License Terms: We aim to extend the license terms of our garden terrace, allowing the outside bar to be open later.

Our Spice Trail Menu is predominantly plant based, with some ethically sourced meat options, as part of our conscious drive towards sustainability. Our passion is for the cooking of the Middle East and southern Mediterranean so expect punchy flavours, warm spices and as always the best ingredients we can find to comfort and nourish the soul.  The kitchen is open until 10pm.

With our drinks, we partner with breweries St Austell and Signature Brew for our lagers and IPAs and serve organic wine and prosecco which help international wildlife charity, Born Free. We design our spin on such drinks as Rum Punch, homemade Hackney Spiced Rum, Vegan White Russian and Espresso Martini.

Mingulitka is a Ukrainian DJ and musician, who brings a fusion of global sounds to London's music scene.

She has a broad range of musical influences and loves experimenting with different sounds and styles, from jazz to electro. 

Mingulitka is a Voices Radio resident, has played at EuroFestival Rave UKraine in Liverpool, Brixton Radio, AAJA, Tilos Radio (Budapest), and has also performed at various clubs and venues across Ukraine, the US, and Hungary.

With a background in electro, broken beat, and more she also has a keen ear for fusion, world, funk, and soul music.

A Cosmic Collective of DJs, Musicians and visual creatives comes to Grow on Jan 20.

They take inspiration from the DIY Club culture of the mid to late eighties... when New York, London, Manchester, Tokyo, Napoli, Paris, Ibiza and Ghana were connecting through the language of dance and rhythm.

Expect to hear Heavenly disco, Island Funk, South African Bubblegum, Italo-Electro, Balearic Boogie and Dubwise sounds to keep you moving and grooving all night long.
