Grow is independent and grassroots with international impact. Local and emerging artists are programmed alongside international artists.
Since GROW opened our doors in 2014, we’ve hosted 250+ events each year and had over 150,000 people through our doors.
Young musicians have jammed with Abass Dodoo (Ginger Baker band), Japanese contemporary dancers and indigenous didgeridoo masters from Australia, to name just a few. Our artist partners credit the collaborations, regularity of exposure and payments as helping them hone their craft. Public Interest returns, kicking off the summer with an evening of exotic house & disco grooves from across the globe .
This time around, they bring you fresh faces, including Defected’s own Stanley Hood & Kanem joining their residents to deliver the finest underground house cuts and explore their wide-ranging collections. Renowned for their deep selections and refined tastes, we can’t wait for you to hear what they have in store.
London-based DJ & Producer Stanley Hood has been igniting dance floors with his distinctive blend of Deep House & Soulful Disco. As an A&R assistant for the legendary Defected Records, Stanley’s Essential Groove mix series spotlights the labels finest tracks while taking listeners on an eclectic journey through various House music styles & grooves. His ability to seamlessly fuse deep sounds has made him well-respected among dance music enthusiasts.
With a recent feature on Resident Advisor for her Reform Radio mix, Kanem has been making a name for herself recently with her sensational mixes blending soul, house, jazz, and everything in between. Honing her skills through both warm-ups sets and a residency for The Boat Pod, her connection to music runs deep, with genres such as lover’s rock, R&B and garage influencing a love for beats and melodies since childhood.
With a solid two-year residency at AAJA radio and a strong history of sonic excellence at our past events, EFM and Jem are once again well-qualified to set the stage for an unforgettable night. Bound to deliver the best of house, disco, electro, and beyond, they have organised and played at numerous successful events in notable venues including Grow, Number 90, Corsica Studios, Tola, The Shacklewell Arms, and many more. Join us for an unforgettable night of music hosted by Public Interest with Conrad Lee headlining. After a stellar performance at The Shacklewell Arms last year, Conrad returns to showcase two hours of soulful disco and infectious house classics. Karis, known for impassioned sets at venues like Lion and Lamb and Mint Festival, will keep the energy high with electrifying grooves and acid undertones.
Ssam, the co-founder of Wacky Records, promises an eclectic mix following his captivating vinyl-only set at our last event. Opening the evening, EFM & Jem, Public Interest residents, will deliver a diverse blend of House, Minimal, Electro, Disco, and more. Don't miss this lineup at Grow this April!
