Grow Hackney Joins the EFG London Jazz Festival with Two Exciting Events
This weekend, Grow Hackney proudly takes part in the EFG London Jazz Festival 2024, hosting two unique events that showcase the dynamic and diverse nature of jazz. Here's what you can look forward to:
Thursday 21st November: Jazz Jam with Donovan Haffner
This Thursday, the usual house band, Stratos, makes way for a special guest host—Donovan Haffner, an exciting young talent redefining the jazz scene.
Donovan, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, has collaborated with some of the biggest names in contemporary jazz, including Moses Boyd, Charlie Stacey, Jay Phelps, and Balimaya Project. At just 18, he toured Italy with Moses Boyd and has become a regular in Jay Phelps’ Kind of Blue project. Mentored by luminaries like Gary Crosby OBE and Binker Golding, Donovan is a finalist for the prestigious Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2024 and the Tina May Award.
Don’t miss this chance to witness a rising star deliver a powerful evening of jazz, pushing boundaries and paying homage to tradition.
