Come And Celebrate Our 5th Birthday With Live Music, Art And The Future Fair On Fri 5 & Sat 6 July!
We’re celebrating our 5th birthday by bringing together all that we love for a weekend in July (Fri 5 & Sat 6 2019) showcasing eclectic live music, performances and DJs as well as our eco-fair.
Since opening 5 years ago, we’ve been committed to sticking to our founding ethics: DIY; independent; and a self organised creative community with inclusive events, affordable work space and partnerships with other like-minded local businesses and community groups. We operate as an experiment in ethical and sustainable business and pay London Living Wage; source locally and ethically wherever possible and regularly fundraise for local charities. We are also powered by eco-electricity. In addition to the canalside creative space, Grow Studios (which has been running for over 10 years) has helped over 100 local artists, creative practitioners and small businesses to build, create, make and grow.
Our aim is to put people before profits and we hope we provide a space for people to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle in the midst of the capitial city by hosting a diverse programme of music and art events whilst sharing our passion for sustainability. It has been a testing time for the local community as we respond to rent increases and the regeneration in the area so our birthday is also a chance to thank our patrons, partners and supporters.
As usual, Grow’s kitchen partner, Slow Fire London, will have a predominantly vegan and seasonal menu available and Grow’s indoor and canal side bars will have a carefully selected range of local, ethical and sustainably sourced drinks - including organic wine, prosecco and cider; lagers and ales from local and independent breweries; Kompassion Kombucha (brewed in Grow Studios); Hackney Herbal Tea; and Union Coffee; the fairtrade cola Ubuntu; Charitea; locally made Rejuce as well as Grow’s very own signature drinks such as Vegan Hemp White Russian and Homemade Hackney Spiced Rum.
