Disco Freaks & Friends are back in the glorious setting of Grow in Hackney Wick for a big summer denouement on Friday 13th September.
That means it’s time to squeeze every last drop of summer 2024 out on the deck and (dance floor obvs) to some boogie, funk and disco vinyl sounds. Our resident firestarter DK will be there too with some juicy stuff for that E9 sunset.
Disco Freaks have built up a reputation as one of the most exciting soul and funk vinyl DJs around, they have brought the good times across UK, Europe and most recently in New York. The energetic duo, Chris Davies & Matt Browning, from Blackburn and Margate have shared a residency with the legendary John Morales, gigged with Roy Ayers and brought the funk to festivals like Glastonbury and Bestival and also around the world.
They also have a weekly show on Hoxton Radio and Brooklyn's The Face Radio every Wednesday 7-9pm BST and 2-4 EST. Bringing the spirit of Studio 54 to packed-out crowds is how they began but now they also make some sounds of their own. Their debut with Acid Jazz in 2018 was an edit of Leroy Hutson’s Lucky Fellow and it is the first time that wonderful tune has been heard on 7 inch vinyl.
