ROTATION POLICY // SOPH // HOUSE // DISCO
With 10 years in the game, Rotation Policy has become a mainstay feature in the landscape of London's nightlife and is back once again to bring you a night of funky musical exploration taking place on turntables.
ABOUT THE DJS
Taking heavy influence from club culture as it began in the US in the 1980s, their genre spanning sets are a mixture of the energetic highs of disco, hypnotic electronic music and raw house with locked grooves and packed with jazz and soul influences. They will be bringing through their handcrafted rotary mixer, giving the tone of the music a warm and impactful sound you won't find in your average club.
The special guest for this edition of Rotation Policy is none-other than Soph. A champion of all things vinyl, she has founded South London’s vinyl collective Social Records Society, as well as co-captained former record store and soon to be community owned live music venue Sister Midnight. She’s hosted and spun at a number of iconic venues across London such as Corsica Studios, Cafe 1001, Peckham Audio and the Carpet shop and played sets at We Out Here and Wide Awake festival as well as overseas at Boxout Wednesdays in Delhi.
Originating from France, Alfie Panaiotis is a DJ with a wide appreciation of all forms of electronic music, and has a keen ear for soulful rhythm. With recent sets at BBE store, Bambi E8 and Cafe 1001, Alfie has been making waves in the London scene as an emerging tastemaker. We can't wait to see the passion he brings to the dancefloor at Grow!"

Soma Soma is a fantastic live act that will transport you to a new world of Afro/Brazilian music and spread pure feelings of connection, joy and nostalgia.
"Soma Soma are an 8-piece band from Bristol, UK, who offer an exciting mix of world music styles that can only be described as their own Soma Soma sound. Driving percussion, vintage horns, and hypnotic guitar lines work together to seamlessly blend Brazilian styles (Samba/Bossa Nova/Arrocha) with Africa (Highlife/Afrobeat/Soukous) genres to create something completely new and exciting. They are able to take traditional rhythms and infuse them with a modern energy that keeps the audience captivated throughout their performances. One of the most striking aspects of Soma Soma's music is the use of Portuguese lyrics in their songs, which adds an exotic and mysterious element to their sound. Even for those who don't understand the language, the vocal performances are said to be powerful and emotive, conveying the passion and intensity of the music. Soma Soma is a fantastic live act that will transport you to a new world of afro/brazilian music and spread pure feelings of connection, joy and nostalgia".
Kaya M has made a great mark with her bold sets, honing in on soulful blends of rocksteady, ska, and early stepper's from the 60’s to 90’s. Each month she presents a radio show on Kane FM, and works as a keys player, as part of a studio band for the record label Room in the Sky.

PARASANG // MAHAN MIRARAB // VINCENT PONGRACZ // ELECTRONIC, JAZZ, DANCE, EXPERIMENTAL
Pouya Ehsaei is a familiar face at Grow. He has hosted numerous live jams with his Cuban-infused band, Ariwo, and his event, Parasang. Now, he returns for another night, showcasing his artistry as an experimental live musician, sound designer, producer, and curator.
As the band leader of Ariwo and the driving force behind the electronic and live music club night, Parasang, Pouya’s practice involves experimenting with various compositional and sound synthesis techniques. He aims to create a sonic journey through hypnotic soundscapes, industrial beats, intricate sound miniatures, epic soundscapes, fractal polymeric rhythms, and pulsating, hard-hitting sub-frequencies.
Pouya has graced prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Centre, Southbank Centre, and the Royal Academy of Arts. He has also performed at several festivals, such as Montreux Jazz Festival, We Out Here, Womex, Womad, and Fusion.
Joining Pouya are two Austrian/Iranian guests where you will experience a fusion of Iranian culture and contemporary music.
Mahan Mirarab, a renowned Iranian jazz guitarist, will captivate you with his extraordinary double neck guitar. This unique instrument allows him to weave microtonal melodies and solos on the fretless guitar, creating a soundscape that transcends the ordinary. His music is a testament to the rich and diverse culture of Iran, and his performance promises to be a mesmerizing experience. Mahan represents a generation of young migrant musicians in Europe who are changing the sound borders in the music industry and are pushing for more diversity with respect to quality, dialogue, and creativity.
Sharing the stage with Mahan and Pouya is Vincent Pongracz, an exceptional clarinet player. Vincent’s virtuosity on the clarinet adds a new dimension to the performance, his notes dancing in harmony with Mahan’s guitar. Vincent is a composer, videographer, and a clarinet player who has been praised for his unique arrangements and compositions. He has performed in numerous concerts around the world and his music is a blend of diverse styles, avoiding cliches and expanding the understanding of how each style can be interpreted.
The evening will be divided into two distinct sets. The first set will be a downtempo, hypnotic performance, allowing you to lose yourself in the rhythm and melody. The second set will pick up the pace, with an upbeat and borderline clubby vibe that will get your feet moving.
Come join us for a night of unparalleled musical mastery and experimentation, as we savor the summer nights by the canal at Grow.
Closing out the night is London-based Moontalk returns after an incredible warm-up set for DJ Amir and My Analog Journal crew. She has an affinity towards off-the-grid electronic and dance music with exotic textures and hypnotic percussions the Turkish-British DJ and radio host will be warming up the floor with a selection of softer cuts that transcend genres, borders and eras.
